The Mystery Bag
Samantha entered the room carrying a big, old-fashioned, spotted leather carry-on bag. Everyone turned to stare. “What’s in there?” asked Jake, eyeing the bulky, checked hard-shell case she dragged behind her.
Samantha grinned. “You’ll see soon enough,” she said, placing the modern, light, striped polyester handbag on the table.
The suspense grew as she unzipped it. The room fell silent. Was it treasure? A gadget? Or perhaps… a surprise no one expected?
She pulled out a tiny, floral, wooden box and set it down carefully. “Wait for it,” she whispered, leaning closer.
Suddenly, the box popped open, and out sprang a wheeled, plastic robot that lit up and spun around the room, playing music. Laughter erupted as everyone clapped and cheered.
“Best party trick ever!” Jake said, grabbing his phone to record the moment.
